Samhita Krishnamurthy

When Samhita Krishnamurthy delivered a speech about the need for diverse representation in public office, she noticed that many of her peers were unaware of how to engage or even didn’t feel their voices mattered. Realizing that young people lacked accessible ways to explore civic engagement, she decided to change that.

As a Minnesota Youth Council District 6 representative and founder of the Minnetonka High School Girls Who Code Club, she combines her love for leadership, technology, and advocacy to help students make their voices heard.

From that vision, Spark Civics was born: a youth-led platform where students can discover, learn, and take action in their communities. Samhita’s mission is simple—give young people the tools and opportunities to lead, advocate, and shape the world around them.
